Now you are looking in the front door of my Nouakchott host family's house. As you can see, it's really more a collection of rooms than a house. This is somewhat typical of the older sections of the city. Often houses have a nice courtyard where the family hangs out. This is not the case here, the family mostly hangs out in front of the boutique.
